Swedish massage uses the power of touch to move clients into a state of total relaxation. Therapists locate areas of tension and use different techniques to enable these areas to relax. Swedish massage is a combination of long flowing strokes, kneading, and friction on the superficial layers of muscle tissue.
Swedish massage is relaxing and invigorating. It increases the oxygen flow in the blood, releases toxins from the muscles, and reduces stress. All Freedom Massage therapists have a background in Swedish-based massage, blended with other techniques.
Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load, and stimulates the skin and nervous system. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is recommended in a regular program for stress management. All Freedom Massage therapists have a Swedish based massage, blended with other techniques.
Deep-tissue massage goes beneath the surface, into your muscle fiber, which the therapist works on with knuckles and elbows to relieve tension. Deep-tissue massage is used to help relieve prolonged stress in the body. All of our therapists specialize in this form of massage.
Deep tissue massage can improve posture, increase range of motion in muscles and joints, release tension, reduce stress, reduce or eliminate pain and dysfunction, and increase circulation and the oxygenation of tissue.
Our magnificent massage times TWO! Couples or friends can be in the same room for massages.
Pfrimmer deep muscle therapy is a specialized style of massage in which the therapist uses shorter motions to work across the fibers of muscles. As each layer relaxes, the next layer becomes more accessible. This allows the therapist to penetrate deeper muscle groups with a minimal amount of pressure. The constant motion of the massage strokes encourages blood flow to the applied areas and allows the body to rejuvenate down to the cellular level.
Reflexology promotes healing by stimulating the nerves in the body and encouraging blood flow. Reflexology can also alleviate allergy symptoms, as well as stress, back pain, and chronic fatigue.
Trigger point therapy is used to relieve muscular pain and dysfunction through applied pressure to trigger points — localized, sensitive tissue areas — and stretching exercises. Putting pressure on these points refers pain to other parts of the body. As trigger points are deactivated, the muscle tissue improves form and function.
Sports massage is vital for athletes who want to stay primed for peak performance. Whether pre-event, post-event, or simply for those in training, it should be a part of every athlete’s routine. From the Olympian to the weekend warrior, sports massage is helpful for anyone who stretches their physical limits.
These benefits are optimized when used along with your training regimen and a regular maintenance program. There are three basic categories to meet an athlete’s needs:
Pre-Event
Post-Event
Training
MFR is an interactive stretching technique that provides maximum relaxation to tense tissues. Fascia, or connective tissue surrounding and penetrating every tissue and organ of the body, may stick to muscle, causing pain and/or dysfunction. Gentle pressure and traction create fascial release. The therapist determines the direction, force, and duration of the stretch based on feedback from the client’s body. Efficient posture and movement are goals of this treatment. Freedom Massage therapists do not perform full MFR sessions, but do incorporate it into their massages.
The primary goal of myofascial release is to eliminate restrictions.
Otherwise known as Ancient Massage, or passive yoga, Thai massage is a technique used to give an experience of the total body. It is similar to Shiatsu and acupressure with stretches and yoga postures. Thai on the Table is the perfect modality for clients who are looking to achieve greater flexibility and balance. Thai on the Table is performed on a standard massage table and the client remains fully clothed. Comfortable clothing is essential, because your body will be pushed to its fullest potential. Your body will fall into a state of ease as your muscles are stretched and compressed. The therapist and client work together to loosen and strengthen the body as a whole. Yoga folks will love this modality, because it will encourage a deeper practice. You will be able to concentrate not only on attaining and maintaining postures, but breathing deeper into yourself through an assisted posture. Thai on the Table is for those who want to truly understand their body and help it unwind.
The client will experience the following benefits:
